Therapy From A Veteran Who Understands

When one Veteran receives therapy from another Veteran, it has the potential to create camaraderie, and validation of shared experiences and deep understanding of the impact military culture has on a person during and after service.

Dr. Carolyn Brown, PsyD, is a licensed Clinical Psychologist, a certified Hypnotherapist and a USAF Retired Combat Veteran. Dr. Brown joined the USAF in 1991 and honorably retired in 2012 after 21 years of Active Duty at the rank of Master Sergeant.

If you find yourself and your loved ones facing challenges, please know that you are not alone, and that help is just one phone call away. Therapy can be very effective for those suffering from the invisible wounds of combat.

Dr. Brown can assist with those who experience:

  • Trauma

  • PTSD

  • Difficulty transitioning to civilian life

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Sleep disturbances

  • Anger management issues

As a non-network provider credentialed with Tricare, Dr. Brown’s services are completely reimbursable.

Brown Life Light Psychology offers multiple types of therapy, and treatment plans vary from person to person, but what does not vary is Dr. Brown’s desire to help.

Dr. Brown is originally from Los Angeles, California and joined the USAF in 1991 and honorably retired in 2012 after spending 8 months on the wounded warrior floor of Walter Reed Army Hospital where she was medically evacuated.

While there, Dr. Brown had to learn how to walk, read and write again after suffering a massive stroke. After retirement, Dr. Brown began her own journey of healing due to severe combat related PTSD. Individual therapy and hypnosis (and a therapy animal) helped her get to a place of wellness.

Dr. Brown is a member of DAV and VFW. As a Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Brown has maintained a passion for working with Veterans.
